We were able to get our hands on the last of a secret stash of New In The Box Xmods from a friend of AtomicMods! He didn't want to give them up, but he realized they needed to be out in the world being enjoyed by all the Xmods fans lucky enough to get their hands on one.

The last time we had Xmods in stock, they went fast!  We've got Gen1's, Streets, Evo's, and Evo Trucks on the shelves ready to ship! Quantities are low with this round, so don't wait!

ince we broke the Optima Body after only two runs we decided to go another route. I started looking around the shop at the bodies we had available, eyeballed the Losi Micro SCT as a prefect fit (with a little rear fender well trimming) Frank fabed up some body mounts and I slapped some paint and stickers on it... We think it came out pretty cool!

Shot some bashing video of it at the local skate Park, hope you enjoy it!

Our source at Kyosho gave us a bit of information on their upcoming Mini-Z MB-010 Optima 2.4GHz Micro Buggy. The Mini-Z Optima will be 4WD, run oil-filled shocks, use AAA-size batteries and come as a ReadySet with a 2.4 gHz transmitter, or just the chassis if you already have a KT-18 or other Mini-Z compatible 2.4gHz radio.  Kyosho should release more information sometime in September and it should be on sale sometime in November 2011… Just in time for Santa!!

( I hope he leaves one at my house!)

The advanced design of the Mini-Z AWD incorporates four wheel independent suspension and shaft driven 4WD featuring precision differential gears at the front and rear controlled by the pre-installed ASF 2.4GHz unit, and it's small enough to fit on the palm of your hand!

The one-piece RA-23T receiver-amp unit features a Chase Mode that turbo-boosts the excitement of R/C racing. When used with a compatible 3-channel transmitter (sold separately), the Chase Mode acts as a power limiter to restrict output to 70% of full throttle. However, when the opportunity presents itself, push the 3rd button and output is instantaneously increased to 100% for a 3-second burst of speed. Read more here...

Yes it is true, we have a limited number (20 to be exact) of brand spanking new XMODS Starter Kits in stock and ready for immediate shipment. If you know XMODS, you know how rare new starter kits are:

We have the XMOD Evo Starter Kit - 2006 Scion tC - Silver

As well as the XMOD Evo Starter Kit - Transformersâ„¢ Bumblebee Camaro Concept.

Rob had to brave deep dark dungeons without a flashlight, swim freezing waters in his skivvies, and walk across fire on his hands to acquire these, and he will try, but is not sure he can do it again. So if you have been hankering for a new kit, don't wait, buy it now.

The latest SCX10 is inspired by off-road vehicles that are basically part truck and part buggy, nicknamed "truggies". The Axial SCX10 is the kit to have when it comes to having a realistic looking truggy. It incorporates realistic features like a steel c-channel ladder frame, plastic molded cage, and plastic front bumper with aluminum skid plates to attack the trails with. These are just a few of the items that set these kits apart.

This kit is available for pre-order, and should be shipping late January.

After spending quite a long time in "XMODS out of stock parts limbo"  the command logic head light & Tail light kit is back in stock!  We don't know when Radio Shack is going to decide to stop making these again, so I would pick one up if you can.

We've had a busy week here at AtomicMods. We've been getting in a lot of stock we (and you) have been waiting on.  We received a huge Atomic and GPM order and everything has been updated, so we probably have that hard to find GPM aluminum piece for your XMOD back in stock! WHOOHOO!

We've also been getting a bunch of new stuff from Kyosho in this week. Let's see...A few new MR03s, a few new 2.4Ghz AWD Min-Z(two of them Drift cars), a new plane (Kyosho Minium AD profile 330SC) and some new(old school) Skyline auto scale bodies.

We're getting geared up for Christmas so be on the lookout for new and exciting stuff. Check the links or the new stuff page often.

Get ready to hit the trails now with the new SCX10 Ready-to-Run TR (Trail Ready). The TR features a true steel C-channel ladder frame with bolt on shock hoops, molded skid plate, and dual spring oil filled shocks. These are just a few of the items that make this one capable off-road truck. The Dingo truck body is also specifically designed for the trail because it incorporates a realistic molded roll cage and fender flares which are molded in tough durable composite plastics that will withstand the abuse of some of the toughest trail runs. Also when the sun sets, the outings don't stop either because a total of 6 LED's brightly illuminate the trail, so there's no trail too treacherous for the SCX10 TR.

These rigs will we up on the site, ready for purchase this week.

The Ford Bronco is a famous American 4X4 off-road vehicle. This 1970's model was among the first series called "Early Bronco" which were produced during 1965-1977. Three types of bodies were released; the fully-open "Roadster," the single cabin pick-up "Utility," and the "Wagon" which had a resin roof. The body featured triangular protrusions on both sides on the curved front hood which worked well as a guide for drivers to accurately measure the body size while driving. The front suspension features coil springs combined with the rigid axle, which was a first for mass-produced 4X4 vehicles and works well both on-road and off-road. The Bronco is still greatly popular around the world, particularly here in America, where many are used as cross-country off-road and rock crawling vehicles.

CR-01 dedicated crawler chassis features heavy-duty ladder frame with strong yet lightweight pressed aluminum channels and resin cross members. The space saved by mounting a compact planetary gearbox enables the battery to be located lower on the chassis for optimum center of gravity.

4-link coil spring suspension provides the flexibility needed to conquer difficult rocky terrain. Inboard dampers are connected to suspension via linkages, which are then connected via stabilizer torsion bar to provide sure-footed balance.

3-piece beadlock wheels are mounted with massive rock crawler tires with 125mm diameter and 56mm width. These work together with the suspension system to generate an impressive amount of ground clearance.

Two new Nissan Silvia Formula D bodies and two new Subaru Impreza WRC2008 test cars.  All four of these new auto scales are for the MA-010 AWD chassis, but as with most mini-z bodies you can usually make them work on other mini-z chassis with a little modification.

Prepare to go where no other Micro has gone before. Not only does Losi’s 1/36 Micro HighRoller RTR sport scale appearance and style, it also has the ability to tackle more aggressive terrain. Thanks to a raised chassis design, it can clear obstacles and conquer terrain that is normally impassable by most RC vehicles its size. Like all Losi micro vehicles, the Micro-HIGHroller includes everything you need right inside the box, meaning you will have everything you need for a fun-filled micro lifted-truck experience.

Novak’s Goat is back and more versatile than ever. The Goat 3S Crawler Brushless/Brush ESC (#3214) is one of the few crawling-specific, sensored speed controls available and is packed with dozens of features to preserve its superiority on the rock-crawling course. It has the ability to run on either two or three-cell Li-Po batteries, which the speed control automatically detects through Novak’s auto-detect software. This feature allows users to run a wider range of batteries and bestows the Goat 3S with even more power than the original 2S Li-Po Goat Crawler ESC (#3219). Additionally, one of its three profiles is specific for worm-drive vehicles – such as Losi’s® 1/10-Scale Comp Crawler Race Roller™ and Kyosho’s® Rock Force 2.2™ – which do not require electronic drag brakes.

Last week Rob brings me a small scale/working police light bar and says "mount this on something and see what we can do with it!" The first thing I could think of was our Axial SCX10, but why would a white four wheel drive truck have a light bar on top of it?

The Land Rover Defender 90 U.S. Border Patrol truck was born! Who knows, maybe the U.K. will send us some Defenders to help with our Border security. (probably not)

I'm happy to inform you that we have some RCP Link-N-Rocks on the way to us. If you have seen a shot of our track from the shop cam you'll notice that we've reconfigured it a bit so the infield is wide open. That will be the new home of our RCP pre-fabed rocks!

In addition to RCP's track products, they are in process of manufacturing modular rocks for the RC crawling industry. The rocks can be used for in store display of RC crawling trucks, in store demo purposes of RC crawling trucks and set up for RC rock crawling competition courses. They can be used in the home, office, hobby store or corporate/trade show event. They are rated for  both indoor and outdoor use and weigh less than 8 lbs per rock pod.

The rocks are made through a special process that gives the texture a realistic look and feel. The rocks offer excellent grip for all types of RC crawling rubber tires. There's nothing like being able to test out your suspension setup "indoors" before you hit the rocks at the comp!

For all of our fans who have been waiting for a new Manhattan to come out...wait no more. It's finally here!  We have taken all the setups and innovation that we have learned this year and applied them to our Version 2. If you look closely you will notice it's a lot like our team car on steroids. I took my time on this build and can tell you first hand, this car is unbelievably fast...

Incorporating real engineering elements from full-size rock crawling competition, the 1/10 Comp Crawler represents the pinnacle of RC rock crawling design. Every part, every feature and every inch is designed to mimic real-world competition platforms, resulting in the most advanced 1/10-scale radio control crawler ever developed.

The list of innovations that make the Comp Crawler an RC revolution is long, and it starts with a solid foundation. The Twin Vertical Plate (TVP) chassis with adjustable upper shock mounts offers unbeatable stability and rigidity in a durable, lightweight design. The result is confident handling over any terrain and outstanding suspension articulation. And Team Losi Racing has gone one step further, by offering this innovative crawling chassis pre-built and tuned right out of the box. All you have to do is add the electronics of your choice and paint the included Lexan Grappler Pro body.

I just got started on our Axial SCX10 1.9 Scale Truck Build yesterday. It's going together quickly, and I can already tell this is a great kit. With our additions like a Novak brushless crawler system, Mayhem Engineering 1.9 Double Phattie Aluminum Wheels, Pro-line CGR Lexan body and a 3s Lipo Battery, this truck will be a TRAIL BEAST!

Just getting started.

Here's a sneak peek of the new LS2.0 Chassis from Mayhem Engineering.  We should have these sets on the website in a matter of hours.  It fits the Axial AX10 and other platforms.  Like Mayhem's line of wheels, this new crawler chassis is HQ all the way!

The 10th Anniversary Mini-Z. Limited to 1000 units, this ARR chassis comes in a unique jet black finish and special red anodization on the ball diff and disc damper. These red-anodized parts are reserved only for this special edition MR02 and will not be available separately.  We have the largest allocation of these limited production chassis sets in the US.

Be sure to check out the sweet video review Frank did on the product page...

I know you don't stop thinking about your favorite RC after you put it on the shelf.  You probably go to work and/or school thinking about it.  Now when you sit down at your computer, you can keep a car in the palm of your hand!

We had some fun with the new GT-Rs the other day.  Not only are these cars some of the fastest on Earth, but they make for great photography.  We started with stock wheels and got both colors as they come out of the box.

Then Jay ran off with the silver GT-R.  When it returned, the stock wheels were replaced by Atomic's new Aluminum wheels for the Mini-Z AWD.  He also removed the springs to give it the slammed look that makes it photograph even nicer:

As with any Mini-Z, I'm not sure how long Kyosho plans to keep this car in production.  So I would recommend picking it up if you have the means.

Finding time away from the shop is hard unless you are on a mission to get some really cool videos of our Tamiya CR01 and 3Racing new working winch. Here is a pic of myself and Jay working the camera....video coming soon.

The Kyosho Rock Force is back! Ok, so it's not new but it's back in stock!  Now on to the new stuff!  (we have the high speed worm gears and the Kyosho option spring set in stock as well for this beast)

Alright, a few things I'm excited to see...

We just got the Pro-line Ambush lexan body for the Axial AX-10(scale accessories not included) with the scale roll cage. We've got it with or without the cage. We'll also be carrying the scale accessories packs from Pro-line you see here. (roof rack, light bar, wester style bumpers, accessory packs, etc....)

Here's one of the accessory packs we'll be carrying

The winch you see above is NOT a working winch, BUT we already have the 3 racing 1/10 scale fully operational winch in stock! (see below) Pretty cool.

Last but least, we're expecting the new Axial SCX10 1.9 scale truck kit mid February. I can't wait to get my hands on one of these!  (I'm a bit of a "scale truck" junkie)

SCX10 chassis (below)

I think that's enough for now, see you on the rocks! (or trail)

Kyosho has been slow to supply the Mini-Z MR-02LM ASF Kits.

But, we got our hands on the newest LM Body.  It's not out yet in the states, but it should be available within a few weeks.  It's a Mazda 787B.  Check it out...

Carbon fiber is so light.  Seriously.  This new chassis is half the weight of the titanium version and 20% lighter than the aluminum version.  Just like its aluminum and titanium brethren, it will accomodate all XMOD Evo car bodies.

There are lots of knockoffs of this chassis on Ebay.  Some even claim they are AtomicMods-produced.  Let it be known, we are not marketing this chassis on Ebay.  If you see this chassis on Ebay, it is a fake at worst, or used at best.

The most exciting 2.2 Crawler to date is available! The Kyosho 2.2 Rock Force features the first worm transmission in a 2.2 Crawler.  Worm gears are good.  Here's a few reasons why:
  • Worm gear design allows a large gear reduction ratio to be fitted into a compact space that also delivers high strength and easy maintenance. The small number of moving gears also minimizes the potential for trouble and results in greater reliability.

  • The large gear reduction ratio works fine with the standard power output of a 20T to 27T motor. Not only can you avoid the high-cost of a special motor, worm gear technology also produces highly efficient and powerful torque delivering excellent low range control.

  • No special ESC is required to add a drag brake.  The one-way drive transfer of the worm-gears prevents reverse rotation of the tires so the tires lock automatically when the throttle is released. This also provides powerful stopping effect on steep slopes and works well with standard speed controllers.
This revolutionary vehicle will be ready to ship on Tuesday, December 2.
